Allyson Peller, Ph.D. M.P.H., is a senior scientist at Advocates for Human Potential’s (AHP) Center for Research and Evaluation. Dr. Peller has more than 15 years of experience conducting research to improve health services for at-risk populations including people with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and drug-exposed newborns. She is leading the Data Collection and Data Management team for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)–funded Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic-Expansion (CCBHC-E) Grant Program Evaluation, a national cross-site evaluation. She serves as lead evaluator on several SAMHSA-funded single site-projects to expand access to medication-assisted treatment for prescription drug and opioid addiction (MAT–PDOA), including a State Pilot Grant Program for Treatment of Pregnant and Postpartum Women (PPW-PLT). Before joining AHP, Dr. Peller held research staff positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brandeis University, and Cambridge Health Alliance, where she collaborated with clinicians and researchers to design and implement studies investigating the effects of treatment and policy interventions on behavioral and perinatal health outcomes. She is skilled in program evaluation, study design, quantitative and qualitative research and analyses, manuscript writing, project management, and leading educational initiatives for clinicians, research staff, and community members. Dr. Peller holds a Ph.D. in social policy from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, where she was also the recipient of a training grant in alcohol health services research from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. She received her M.P.H. with a concentration in chronic disease epidemiology from Yale University.
