ANNOUNCEMENT

2017 National Cannabis Summit Summary of Proceedings Now Available

AHP is pleased to announce that the 2017 National Cannabis Summit: Science, Policy, and Best Practices Summary of Proceedings is now available for download.

To facilitate advances in the science of cannabis and its regulation, Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., the Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network, and the National Council for Behavioral Health convened the National Cannabis Summit: Science, Policy, and Best Practices, a three-day meeting that took place in Denver, Colorado, in August 2017.

The Summit had 473 participants and featured 57 presentations and posters that focused on emerging research and epidemiological data, law and policy, prevention, public health and safety, and the science of cannabis.

The summary of proceedings is divided into three sections:

  • The state of the science concerning cannabis’s impact on health, wellbeing, and safety
  • Issues related to cannabis policy, regulation, and strategies for promoting public health as cannabis laws evolve
  • A summary of points that emerged from Summit presentations and discussions concerning steps that researchers and policymakers can take to advance cannabis science and public health policy in the age of legalization.
